Summary[]

The Dollagangers, a beautiful, middle class family of six living in Gladstone, Pennsylvania drown in debt after the death of the father, Christopher Sr. The mother, Corrine Dollaganger makes the decision to move back in with her parents where she must hide the children in the attic of the mansion while she gets into her father's good graces.

Plot[]

In 1957, the Dollaganger's, which consist of Catherine "Cathy" Dollaganger, the main character of the series. Christopher Dollaganger, her older brother. Corey and Carrie Dollaganger, the younger fraternal twins and Corrine and Christopher Dollaganger, Sr., and their parents all live in a middle class suburb in Gladstone, Pennsylvania. They're describe as smart and beautiful by anyone who's met them.

When Christopher Sr is supposed to come home, he is reported to have gotten into a car accident and died, which saddens the remaining Dollagangers. After his death, Corrine tells the children that they're in debt and have no professional skills to support the family. She orders the children to pack up their bags and leave their home to live in the attic of Foxworth Hall, her childhood home in Virginia

The children meet Olivia Foxworth, their mean, estranged Grandmother who thinks they're the devil spawn because of what their parents did. This prompts Corrine to tell the children the truth, that their father was her half uncle and she was written out of the will and lives of the Foxworths.
